There is no denying it, my voice is now starting to fade, and my brain is overwhelmed. I however have one more phone call to make tonight. I dial the phone number of my birthfather, Ellery Fairbrother, and he answers the phone.

'Hello, is Ellery there?'

'Yes, this is Ellery'

'Ellery, my name is Mark Hoag...'

'Yes, Anita called me, I'm glad you called...'

                                                                                  Ellery, around 1959

I spent the next 45 minutes chatting with a man that gave me life, but yet I had never called dad. The conversation was nice, but reminiscent of guy talk. Short sweet, and to the point.  No need for lots of fluff here, we are guys.  We talk about what Ellery does for a living, his girlfriend Laura, and his two boys, Terrance (35) and Forest (37).

I enjoyed talking with him very much, and I think he enjoyed talking with me. I am looking forward to exchanging photos and meeting in the future. Ellery is fairly well travelled, as he lived in Portland Oregon, and Conneticut as well as Maine.  He is 5'9", and the runt of his family, as he put it.

So many of my family traits are now coming into the light.... this is an incredible experience, today is a day that I will not forget for a very long time.
